| Q: | Can my loft be converted? |

Probably... Although it
is not practical to convert some lofts. The minimum ridge height required
to convert a loft is 7 feet 6 inches measured from where you stand in the
loft to the highest point of the roof. If you are unsure please contact us, we will be delighted to advise you. We can arrange an appointment with you to help answer your questions and provide you with a feasibility report free of charge. |
| Q: | Are there different types of loft conversions? |
| A: | Converting the area already available in your loft is called a "roof light"
or "Velux" conversion.
A conversion with an extension to the roof is called a "Dormer" conversion. There are many different styles of dormers and options available. |
| Q: | Do I need planning permission for my loft conversion? |
| A: | Planning permission is required in some circumstances. We will advise you following a survey of your home and deal with all necessary planning applications on your behalf. |

| A: | If you
intend to use your loft conversion as an extra room in your house, it has
to be built to comply with stringent building standards which are
controlled and monitored by your local authority. Our Architect will provide you with a full set of plans for you to approve before any applications to your Local Authority are made. We will deal with all applications on your behalf. |
